His face brightens as each page turns in anticipation of what’s next. Despite the fact that he’s listened to the same story 1ox doesn’t take away the excitement or the thrill. Books are one of my 3 year old’s greatest joys.
Let’s be honest, there aren’t many things that will keep this little guy sitting still.
It’s truly a gift to watch him LEARN. To watch is precious facial expressions and see the wheels turing through the look in his eyes. He’s excited to meet new ‘friends’ in the form of characters, and better yet introduced to new ideas/concepts/words.
Understanding new situations, and handling them different because Curious George went to the doctor’s office and Pete the Cat met a new friend is SO crazy cool! Just wait until your 3 year old uses a world that you’ve only used in the context of reading one of his favorite books.

As much as we adore the experience of the library, with small children it’s so nice to OWN the favorites. Thrift Books is our new found favorite online book retailer. With the reading rewards loyalty program I can buy books for the kids and then grab a $5 coupon on new books for me too! Be sure to sign up for the reading rewards program before your FIRST order so you don’t miss out on any credits (its completely free with zero strings attached)
It’s nice to have real books in hand. Before you write off reading books for you, and declaring that you can get all the information you need from the internet, here me out. This summer alone I’ve read some life changing books. Books that have challenged me to explore new ideas and prompted me to answer HARD questions. Questions I probably would of never asked myself had it not been for the book. I’ve expanded my vocabulary, written more, and had more in depth conversations. If you aren’t familiar with thrift books, you should check it out! To get 15% off your first order, leave your email in the comments or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can send you a coupon!
