It’s been a great summer full of reading and I really can’t get enough. I’m so thankful for the new found passion and the time i’ve made to make it happen!

Here’s what I read in the months of May & June:
I love Annie’s honesty and her ability to make me laugh. I felt like I got to sit down to coffee with her and learn more about her life struggles and how she is overcoming them. I could relate to the way she once dealt with struggle, fear and those moments in life where you just want to run away. She then reminds us all that there is a different way to cope, and a way to embrace what’s around you. To truly look for the lovely in each moment.
Surprised by Motherhood by Lisa-Jo Baker
I’ve heard great things about Lisa-Jo and have even frequented her blog, so this one has been on my list for quite awhile. Again I got to know the author on a deeper level and learn more about her story of becoming a mom. She didn’t always want to be a mom and had lots of apprehensions in the process, but God has shown her so much grace and taught her in the process of becoming a mom and reflecting back on her childhood.
Wild and Free by Hayley Morgan & Jess Connoly
I must confess I’m still reading this and it’s August. It’s been such an honest, get your act together, “hey- we’re- talking to- you” read. So because of that I haven’t been able to just push through and read it. I’ve been stopping at different places, reflecting, learning and truly trying to challenge myself above and beyond. I’m not crazy how it switches authors from chapter to chapter, because I feel like I’m fully invested in one style and voice and then I have to switch to someone elses as soon as the chapter is over. It may not be that big of a deal, but since I feel like I “know” these ladies through blogging I think it created a different vibe for me. Maybe they should each write their own book? Great idea!
The Best Kept Secret by Wendi Nunnery
Ok, You can tell from all of the book lists I’ve ever posted that I’m NOT a fiction reader. BUT I wanted to give my friend Wendi’s book a try… and y’all, I loved it! It’s such an easy read of a high school girl searching to find herself and runs into a few hiccups along the way. This would be an excellent, mindless vacation read.
The Pioneer Woman Cookbook
I finally got my hands on this gem via the public library! It was so fun to thumb through some gorgeous photos and learn a few new tips in the process. I love checking out cook books from the library, to see if it’s truly a cookbook to keep for a lifetime. This is definitely a must have for any southern cook who loves step by step recipes. And YES, cook books totally count as books!
What have you been reading lately?? I love hearing your suggestions of books to add to my list!
