Let it be known that my husband is a State and National Park geek.
Has a National Park’s passport, collects walking stick pins, watches parks documentaries on repeat , the whole 9.
Thankfully we live fairly close to a couple of gorgeous state parks that scratch his itch. I love that something he is so passionate about has turned into a family passion.
Texas state parks offer an amazing program for the little ones. The Jr. Ranger Explore Backpack can be picked up at the park entrance. Each backpack is filled with maps, books, sketch pads, and other explore gear to equip your Jr. ranger. This sparks adventure, a sense of wonder and excitement in our four year old.
Lake Tawakoni State Park has a gorgeous water front views, hiking trails galore, picnic areas, and an abundance of camp sites.
Do you have a favorite State or National Park? Please share so we can add it to our list to visit on our next family adventure.
